Niggly knees

My knees have been niggling me for the last week or so, so ive been talking it easy...yes afraid both of them. I am running on the road which i know doesn't help, but i don't have a park need by. I'm beginning to doubt my Dublin Marathon target at the end of October as i'm not getting up beyond the 5 mile mark yet...words of encouragement/advice needed i think...

How are your shoes? I just got new ones after going to a running store. I found one here in town thats very invovled in the ATC (Atlanta Track Club) and they took the time to watch me run and stuff. Turns out I had a pair of motion control shoes that were throwing my foot out and I think that was the problem with my knees. I got the shoes and ran 6 miles yesterday and today - no pain! May be new shoes and may the right shoes but it worked!
Hope you get going - I wanted to run Chicago this fall but schedules got in the way, targing it next year.
Chicago Training Schedule many people use: Hal Higdon's Training Guide
With your base you should be fine!Technically you have 14 weeks to go and you should be at 5 miles, if you can walk/run 9 one day this week you will make it. Second question, are you also resting propperly?
